Beginner/Puppy - Our classes are not divided into age limits
as each dog is an individual and progresses at their own
Progress also depends on the pet owners consistency,
practice, patients & timing.
Rather we look to see if the dog is making PROGRESS
towards everyone's final goal of being able to maintain the
commands for at least 30 seconds beginning with no to low
In this class you will learn to teach your dog:
Sit, Down, Stay, Wait, Take it, Leave it, (This is a wonderful
command for leaving everything from kids, dogs, snakes, your
dropped pills & anything not to be chewed on), Drop it, LOOSE
leash walking, & Come.
putting them on guard. You will learn how to meet &
greet dogs and people in a way to help them gain
good training tools for loose leash walking if its needed
& how to properly use them.
We will start out using soft treats for rewards, until they are
solid in their commands and we will wean them off treats.
Intermediate - Beginner/Puppy is required for this
class usually even when you have started a class elsewhere.
This class builds on the techniques used in Beginner/Puppy
and Builds on everything you already learned with more
distance, duration & distractions as well as a few new
commands such as: Stand, Heeling, Goto (bed, crate,
kennel ect),We start out using treats again and concentrate
on adding distractions to all your commands to get your dog
to obey reliably.
should be well on your way to learning how to control your
dog off leash. We will play games using everything you have
learned previously in Beginner/Puppy and Intermediate. We
may play doggy tic tac toe, drop in a bucket, as well as learn
how to back, jump thru hoops/over hurdles, weave,
and/or commands from a distance. We look forward to having
you join us!
